The Occupational Safety and Health Administration sent inspectors to a Hamilton farm after a painter was seriously injured after falling from scaffolding on Monday.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse of scaffolding at a Hamilton Farm on Monday that seriously injured a painter.

The incident happened at 9:35 a.m. at Gathering Farm on Bridge Street. The man, who was taken by MedFlight helicopter to Boston Medical Center, suffered serious injuries. His name was not released and further updates on his condition were not available on Tuesday.
Inspectors from the OSHA area office in Andover were at the farm on Monday, OSHA Acting Regional Director Ted Fitzgerald said.
“I now can confirm that OSHA has opened an inspection into (Monday’s) incident in Hamilton,” Fitzgerald said in an e-mail on Monday evening.
In a phone message left with Hamilton-Wenham Patch in response to initial coverage of the incident, Babette Lenna of Gathering Farm said the injured man did not fall from scaffolding and was not unattended when he fell. Lenna could not be reached for further comment or details.
Fitzgerald said, in general, the purpose of as OSHA inspection is to determine which workplace safety and/or health standards apply to a particular workplace or work situation and whether or not an employer complied with those standards.
If the inspection finds there was not compliance with some workplace safety standards, citations and fines could be issued.
The inspection can take up to 180 days, Fitzgerald said.
